After Dark ShenaningansI had a really big night out on Friday. Also, I was in one of those moods for which I am called crazyguy. Anyway, in short I started at Icon, followed by The Hyatt, Velour, Icon, Spy, Inkerman Hotel, One Six One, Seven and finally Revolver.

The night started at Icon Bar, which was pretty crap. The previous time (was it the week before?) was much better. To top it off, neither Mathew nor Dan were coming out either. Just as I was about to leave at 7ish, in walked Brad, Paulette and Dimmey. Paulette said that she had some photos of me that were taken about two months ago and that they were quite funny. But she wouldn't tell me, funny in what way or even where they were taken. She kept saying that she's going to send them to everyone unless... My response was, give them to me and I'll scan and send them to everyone. I still haven't got my hands on them and still have no idea what's in the photos. If any of you see them floating around, please send me a copy.

By this time, the transformation into MyHyde was complete. I was spouting crap to everyone and anyone. Somehow during all this, Angie (door bitch/promoter) at Icon took us to the Hyatt as she was feeling hungry. They've got happy hour between 5 and 7 and after that, it becomes pretty deserted. We got there at 8ish and there were very few people there. The dance floor is more like a courtyard infront of the bar. There is a huge fountain or something in the middle and a small stage on the other side under the stairs. There were about 7-8 people sitting at the bar and another 4-5 people having dinner in the courtyard. Somehow, I'm not sure how, while Angie was having a bit of a feed, I ended up sitting at the band's table with them going through their song lists and writing down which 10 songs they should sing for the next act. They had a complete folder with notes and lyrics of the songs they knew. Even though, they had all these papers, they didn't use any of them during the actual show. In hindsight, the band was pretty cool, what with a complete stranger just coming in and going through their papers. They even introduced me to their agent, Chelsea (whose name is the only one I remember from that whole lot). After fixing up the song lists, I then proceeded to help Chelsea with the negotiations with the entertainment manager at Hyatt. :)

While the band went back on to the stage to check over their equipment, I had this chic come up to and start spouting off about how much she liked live music, much better than night clubs, etc, etc. I think she thought I was a member of the band and I went along with it. That was good fun. Just as the band was about to go on, I made a suggestion for them to change one of the songs and they said no. I challenged them that they didn't know the words and they asked me if I knew to which I answered yes and that I was willing to sing it. They told me to come next week. I know they were just trying to get rid of me at this point, but I would like to call their bluff by going next Friday. Unfortunately, I've already got other plans for next Friday.

After that, we went to Velour bar where I somehow again got detached from the crowd I was with and ended up with another group of girls and guys from ANZ Bank. Stayed with them for about an hour and then left looking for icon crowd who had gone back to icon ages ago. Went back to Icon and just as I was entering, the gang was leaving for Spy.

Walked over to Spy, didn't like it, took a taxi to Inkerman Hotel. Stayed there till about one or two at which time they closed and then went over to one six one. The only thing of note here is that I told a chic to stop dating losers after I defeated the loser at pool. The door bitch would not allow us in saying that they are having a special event and only members are allowed. I even tried going in with a group of Pommie chics using the excuse that we are from England and have travelled a long way to get to Melbourne and everyone recommended 161 as the place to go. No luck, so far to Seven. At seven, they wanted a cover charge. Since I don't pay cover charge, it was off to Revolver.

Considering that I was properly dressed for a nightclub, I had very little hope of getting into Revolver. However, Phil, the bouncer, got us in even though we didn't have membership and we didn't even pay cover charge. I also like their stamp. It's some sort of symbol followed by the letters M.I.A. It something unique and not just a star or a flower that most other places use. I really enjoyed Revolver and would love to go there more often. The only thing is I kept having people come up to me asking for pills. One girl who asked me if I had any spare pills to sell her said that it was nearly 20 to 4 and I was still jumping around as if it was 10 PM. I must be on something and hence, should have stuff to spare with others. We left Revolver at around 5ish, hence it was a long long night.

I eventually made it home by about 11 AM and promptly fell asleep only to be awaken by Eklav at 5:30 asking if I was ready to go in half an hour to his buck's party at Heat.
