Show ReviewsThe surprise hit of 2006 is back! The game of SCRABBLE® has never been so hilarious as it crashes head on into the world of impro comedy. See a game of SCRABBLE® played out between champion 'Scrabblers' and guest comedians... Then see the words formed spring to life as the cast of improvisers create scenes from thin air - scenes that will have audiences in fits of laughter, all the while saying to themselves "How on earth did they think of that?" SCRABBLE® Unscripted played to sell-out crowds and rapturous reviews in 2006. Now it's back and you've got the chance to see what made it amongst the top 100 most talked about SCRABBLE®-related improvised comedy shows of 2006!

We are big fans of Impro comedy and had heard how good this show was last year, so decided to check it out this year. The basic premise is that in one corner, two people play scrabble and at certain times during the show, the board is put up on the projector for everyone to see. The MC chooses some words and asks for the comedians to act out a scene based on those words. The scrabble players tonight were Andrew Fisher (ranked 4th in the world) at Kent Valentine (last years shows reviewed earlier).

Overall, I was not impressed, but I do not 100% sure why. When I walked out, I did not feel satisfied. The comedians were good, their scenes based on the words were good, so there was no reason not to like the show. I think it came down to the audience not having enough say in the show. Being an impro show, I feel the audience needs to play a large part as well and in this show, the scrabble board took over that role and took that bit of fun away from the audience.
