The UK's top funny man makes a welcome return with his own stunningly cheeky solo show. Renowned for his chatty delivery, energy and warmth, and his ability to become the characters he is talking about! Winner of the 2004 Time Out Best Stand-Up Award, Stephen K Amos is simply one of the best in the business.

Priyanka has wanted to go see Amos' show for a while now, so this year we finally went ahead and got tickets for his show. Unfortunately, just last night we saw the Comedy Gala and saw him do a bit of his show. It wasn't that funny, so that dampened our expectations a bit.

The show started off with Mickey D doing a 5 minute warm-up routine which was pretty good considering he was just warming up the audience and plugging his own show. Following that was the biggest surprise of the evening. Instead of Amos, out came an American preacher (Amos) who started preaching in the style of the black preachers seen on TV. The next 20 minutes was spent delivering a sermon in character that was hilarious. This was totally unexpected.

After that, Amos came out and did his routine. This part got a bit boring as it was no longer surprising. Having seen some of the jokes on the Gala, it was no longer funny. In fact, you got to see just how much of the routine has been rehearsed perfectly as each hiccup or ehm is just part of the routine. Notwithstanding this, once the old jokes were out of the way, the show was back on track as being enjoyable. A very good night out.. only negative is I wish the show was not on so late at night.
