As part of today's itinerary, Richard and I went to talk by special guest - Mark Burnett. He is the guy behind Survivor, Apprentice, Pirate Masters and other reality programs.
I am not a big fan of most of his shows, but he himself is a very good speaker. His talk was about taking risks and he told us about how he got to where he is by taking risks. He started off as a paratrooper in the British army, found himself in LA on his way to Central America as a mercenary and decided to stop and become a nanny instead. From there, he graduated to selling t-shirts and eventually got his big break in some TV show about extreme sports.
He also told us about how he got the idea for the Apprentice and how Donald Trump came on board the project. We also found out how the phrase "You're fired!" came into existence, which in itself was a very interesting story completely unrelated to the topic of taking risks.
