Dimmi hosted a party at the Copacabana to celebrate her birthday. The night included a Brazilian Feast followed by lots of dancing and a floor show.

After the Danny Bhoy show, we were wandering around the Town Hall looking for what else we can go see and we kept having people come up to us offering us free tickets to some show or the other. Unfortunatly, none of the shows appealed to us and we went looking for others. More unfortunately, the shows that did appeal to us were all sold out. Sometime during the wanderings from one ticket counter to the next, we were offered tickets to a 15 minute improvised show at the Love Lounge, which is at the Kitten Club. The show was not part of the MICF, as in it wasn't in the actual program book.

After hearing a lot of good things about Danny Bhoy at last years festival and being unable to go see him due to no tickets being available, I bought tickets to his show much earlier this year. He is a Scottish comedian and is one of the international stand-up circuit's most sought-after performers, continually selling out festivals all over the world including Edinburgh Fringe, New York and Montreal.

Myrna organized a long weekend skirmish trip to Echuca/Moama. This was a followup to the skirmish trip exactly 2 years ago to Mount Gambier. It was also Priyanka's first trip to Echuca and to a skirmish... she had no idea what she was getting into.

We jumped out of a perfectly good place from a height of 13000 ft and freefell for about 50 seconds before the parachute opened and we glided back down to earth. What more can I say... it was the absolute best thrill you can ever get!!!!

Our plans for the day involved skydiving in the morning and going on the skywire and a quad bike night safari in the evening. Other than that, we had nothing pre-planned... just see what happens during the day. Also, we were staying at Paradiso Backpackers.

Our second day in Kaikoura and we had to wake up extremely early as we were going to go swimming with seals and had to report in at 8:15 AM. Other than that we had nothing else planned other than the drive to Nelson.

Kaikoura means food (kai) crayfish (koura). It is situated about 190 KMs North of Christchurch. As expected from its name, it is known for its crayfish and other seafood. In addition, it is also a tourist town for water based nature activities. We had two things planned for the our first day in Kaikoura. A Maori Tour in the morning followed by a whale watching cruise in the afternoon.

We woke up early for our first day in Christchurch as we wanted to do as much as possible. That was a big waste. The very first thing to do was to get some breakfast. We could not find any place open before 9 AM. So, it was nearly 9:30 by the time we finished our breakfast and had made decisions on what we wanted to do. The weather was crap. It was raining non-stop and I had nothing but shorts to wear.

Our holiday in NZ finally arrived. During descent, we were told that the temperature in Christchurch was 6 degrees. That is not summer!!! Apparently, NZ is in the middle of a cold snap at the moment. Temperatures are less than half of normal and it has been like that for the past three weeks. Queenstown actually had snow falling when usually by now, all the snow would have melted away.
